Dendritic cell therapy is a type of immunotherapy used to treat various forms of cancer. It is considered an alternative medical therapy for cancer.

One article (1) looked at dendritic cell therapy and the treatment of patients with a very aggressive type of brain cancer, known as glioblastoma. Glioblastoma is one of the most common brain cancers in adults. The article noted that early-stage clinical research trials on humans with glioblastoma is being done, showing its effectiveness against this type of cancer.

The dendritic cell therapy is used as a vaccine given to patients with glioblastoma. Some of the studies on this substance have been done on large numbers of patients so it may be possible that, one day, dendritic cell therapy may become a standard treatment for patients with this form of brain cancer.
