Eicosapentaenoic acid EPA (an essential fat found in fish oil) has been clinically shown to reduce muscle wasting during cancer cachexia (extreme malnutrition in advanced cancer patients).
In this study, it was found that the combination of EPA with curcumin completely avoids protein loss that occurs with thinning in cancer cachexia.
Similarly, the combination of EPA with green tea extract prevents protein loss caused by cachexia.
It was also noted that the combination of EPA with curcumin significantly increased protein formation in the body, and this favors a good nutritional status and weight gain.
Thus, curcumin or green tea extract or the combination of both can improve the Anti-thinning effect of EPA.
