Omega 3 fatty acids contained in fish oil have a protective effect against the development of cancer. Certain non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs act in the same way but cause undesirable side effects. Such is the case of celecoxib.
In this research, it was discovered that a combination of celecoxib with fish oil (20 mg to 30 mg/kg b.w. + 0.25 to 0.5 ml), is a better strategy for cancer prevention that the use of fish oil or celecoxib separately. Both components have a synergistic effect in cancer prevention.
