Cisplatin – How To Increase The Efficacy

Increase Efficacy Of Cisplatin

Cisplatin is an anti-cancer chemotherapy drug and was discovered in 1845. It is used for a variety of cancer types such as lung cancer, breast cancer, bladder cancer, head and neck cancer, cervical and, prostate cancer.

Cisplatin is administered intravenously, and there is no oral form available. The drug will cause severe tissue damage when it leaks out of the vein at the injection site. If the area of injection becomes painful or swollen at any time during or after the injection, inform your doctor immediately.

It is classified as an “alkylating agent.” Alkylating agents are interfering with the DNA structure and causing breakage of the DNA strands, which leads to the death of the cell.
